Habema Brings Hope: Free Healthcare Services for Batas Batu Residents

NDUGA - In a heartwarming display of dedication, the Para Raider 503 Infantry Battalion Task Forces, operating under the TNI HABEMA Command, launched a humanitarian initiative titled "Free Healthcare Services" for the residents of Batas Batu Village, Krepkuri District, Nduga Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. The activity, conducted on Monday, January 27, 2025, aimed to address the long-standing healthcare challenges faced by the local community.

Amid their border security operations, the 503 Task Forces took the time to focus on the health and well-being of the residents. The medical team stationed at Batas Batu Post provided services such as general health check-ups, minor treatments, vitamin distribution, and education on maintaining hygiene and adopting healthier lifestyles.

Villagers eagerly flocked to the post to access these services. Among them was a local resident who sought treatment for a persistent foot ailment. After receiving professional care, the resident shared their joy, saying, “Thank you, Doctor 503. I feel better now. God bless the TNI.”

This initiative reinforced the TNI’s commitment to being more than just protectors of national security. Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, Commander of HABEMA, emphasized, “The free healthcare services provided by the 503 Task Forces reflect TNI's unwavering dedication to addressing the community's fundamental needs. Such efforts not only improve the quality of life for Papuans but also serve as a cornerstone for accelerating welfare and development in the region.”

The program received immense appreciation from the local community, with many residents expressing their gratitude for the care and compassion shown by the TNI personnel. Beyond providing medical aid, the initiative symbolized hope and strengthened the bond between the armed forces and the people of Papua.

Through activities like these, the TNI HABEMA Command continues to bridge gaps, bring essential services to remote areas, and ensure that Papua's development journey remains inclusive and people-centric.
